I grew up with a love of building and architecture. I went to design school, but learned construction while serving for many years in the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I am a carpenter, but also a teacher of construction and landscape construction. I have led thousands of volunteers, students and trainees on projects around the country. My specialty is teaching unskilled people how to build, particularly on community service projects. My wife Martina and I live in NE Portland with our son Keanu.
